SmartDoc Desktop — Screen Capture
SmartDoc Desktop is a Windows application that automatically creates visual technical procedures. Simply start a recording, perform the steps in any application, and SmartDoc Desktop captures each action with annotated screenshots.
Installation
- Download SmartDoc Desktop from the SmartDoc admin portal
- Run the Windows installer (.exe)
- The application launches and appears in the system tray
- Log in with your SmartDoc credentials

How It Works
Capture Principle
SmartDoc Desktop uses an intelligent system that:
- Continuous capture — The screen is recorded at regular intervals (~500ms) in a buffer
- Click detection — Each mouse click triggers saving the current capture
- Keystroke recording — Text typed between clicks is captured automatically
- Window identification — The active application name is recorded with each step
- Sensitive data filtering — Passwords and personal information are automatically masked
